Mary's Meals

Mary’s Meals is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her child in poverty. The idea of Mary’s Meals came from UK businessman, Tony Smith. He would say it was the inspiration of the Virgin Mary.

This is a global movement that sets up school feeding projects in some of the world's poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.

The Apostleship of the Sea

Today’s seafarer is no longer in port for a few nights, but often only for a few hours.  The belief that every seafarer deserves fair working conditions, respect for their human rights and the very best we can offer, remains at the heart of what we do.

Congregation of Christ The Emmanuel (Emmanualites)
Picture
Founded by Rev. Fr. Prof. John Okoro Egbulefu in 1996. >>>
The Spirituality of the Emmanualites consists on the one hand (regarding its mystical dimension), in the continued attachment of the human spirit to - and participating in the life of - the Holy Spirit through daily reception of Holy Communion and daily choral adoration of God in the Most Blessed Sacrament and on the other hand (regarding its ascetical dimension) , in the continued detachment of the human spirit from the evil spirit through ever desisting from evil, resisting the devil and insisting on the truth, cultivating purity of the mind and heart and of the hands by never thinking or saying or doing any evil against anybody, and by frequently receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

FRANCIS: Pope of a New World

A truly excellent book, easy to read, and gives you an insight into the background to the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, the days leading to the Conclave of Cardinals and the election, Pope Francis' family life, the influences on his life, and his days as the Archbishop/ Cardinal of Buenos Aires and the activities following his election. This is a very worthwhile biography of a man of God, gentle and humble.  Available from the CTS Bookshop.
